Very thick material and seems to be sturdy. Only time will tell as to has well it will last my 7th Grader. The lock that came with it would not reset, it wasn't on 000 nor would the pin disengage when set to 000 to create your own combination. Reached out to the seller/manufacturer and they provided great customer service in regards to this minor issue. They could improve on the comfort, thickness, and sturdiness of the shoulder straps. I am going to re-enforce them by double stitching over them with my sewing machine to make them extra secure to the backpack. If this backpack lasts the entire year I will purchase several more for my nieces and nephews for school. Overall I am happy with this purchase so far. Will update if there are any issues.

The backpack is plenty large and sturdy for all their school supplies and Chromebook. Allows them to go through the metal detectors at school quickly. Straps are padded well and do not hurt their shoulders. All-around excellent.

My grandson's schools have been requiring clear backpacks. last year we bought one for the oldest grandson and it lasted all year and he can still use it this year. We just bought the youngest grandson one. They are sturdy and the straps are strong. The zippers are of high quality. Look no Further, if you need a clear backpack, this is the one!
